ivan1     Elizabeth, a journalist, was given a horse at age 40 – her first horse -- which prompted her to start riding. Eleven years later she still is committed to taking lessons and practicing to improve her equitation and dressage skills. As an adult learner, amateur and non-athlete, it has been a long uphill battle. For six of those years, she shared this experience with Ibn Baskaborr +, an Arabian gelding. In 2004, Elizabeth and “Ivan” earned a Legion of Honor, a performance award given by the Arabian Horse Association, in dressage. They also competed in the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals in 2004.

In 2005, Elizabeth purchased, Garrison, a Swedish Warmblood with much potential to do upper level work in dressage. Chris chose “Teddy” for Elizabeth, realizing that she needed a calm horse that would provide her with her next riding challenge. At 13 years of age, he has a good foundation in dressage competing in second level with his former trainer. Teddy is a smaller horse (15.3), sweet and personable, with “big boy” gaits.
