They have 41 metropolitan business journals throughout the U.S. and present these awards annually in each of their markets. A bit about the award,
“Our Women of Distinction honorees are proof that women are continuing to make remarkable achievements and inroads in areas that were not too long ago off limits to them.  They are also very involved in their communities, volunteering their time to serve on nonprofit boards, leading organizations, getting involved in their children’s activities and mentoring other women at their own companies and through professional associations. …..Many ask us the criteria we use to make our decisions. We choose women from a variety of professions and industries that reflect the East Bay business community….”

“We completed the days’ activities with an inspection of the only non-Hanoverian mare present, Liberty, a 12-year-old Hessen……..although she was rather ‘old style’ she is an FEI dressage horse and demonstrated very good gaits, including a 9 for her walk and an 8 for impulsion and elasticity. She was accepted into the AHS’s Main Stud Book with a final score of 7.5, thereby ranking as one of the top mares seen during the entire 2007 inspection tour………
